PRINCIPAL

Mrs. Isabella Simon is an academician and administrator who believes in and applies old values blended with progressive learning keeping in mind the best interest of each individual, and enabling them to be well rounded, global citizens aware of their commitment to global society.

Mrs. Simon has rich experience in creating a culture focused on student learning and academic achievement and employs deep knowledge of educational issues and best practices to achieve optimal student outcomes. This has developed in her career spanning eminent schools in Kolkata – Pratt Memorial School, St Thomas Girls’ School, and La Martiniere School for Girls. She was recently the Principal of Cathedral High School & PU College, Bangalore, and Academic Advisor, Brigade Group of Schools, Bangalore.

Mrs. Simon is an alumnus of Loreto Convent, Loreto College, Kolkata; St. Francis College, Hyderabad; and Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, while pursuing Master of Arts (History).

As a Research Scholar she assisted Prof. Malavika Kalrekar in publishing of the book ‘Re-visiting the Past through Photography’ (2002)  Oxford University Press, and ‘A Case Study of Ramkrishna Mission’ (2003). At The Institute of Historical Studies, Kolkata, as a  Ford Foundation Research Programme scholar,  she researched on the subject: Historical Relevance of Missionary Records. Vol.1 and 2 published by Orient Longman under the guidance eminent historians, Prof. Nishit Ranjan Ray and Prof. Nemai Sadan Bose.

MR. MANOJ KUMAR CHATURVEDI, MA., M.Ed, M Phil

VICE PRINCIPAL

Mr. Chaturvedi joined Amber Valley Residential School in 2008 after a rich experience of 32  years as a teacher, House Master, Head of Department, Hostel Superintendent,  in schools such as Central School,  Vivekananda Kendra Residential School, Himalayan International Residential School, Lawrence School Lovedale. He has contributed stories and poems in the field of Hindi Literature which have been published at the national level and for which he has attained awards from Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, Rashtriya Kavi Sammelan, and all india recognition in Urdu Mushaira and  All-India Radio participation.

Mr. Manoj Chaturvedi is Vice Principal of the school along with his other duties as Head of the Languages Department and Dean of Student Welfare.

An Internationally renowned artist, sculptor and illustrator, and a former Math’s Professor, Mr. Ilango has exhibited in India, UK, USA, France, Malaysia, and was the Founder of Ilango’s ArtSpace in Chennai. He has been a recipient of the British Council Fellowship, State Awards, Jury Awards in France, Paramacharya Award, International Artist Award and is a former President, Association of British Scholars, Chennai Chapter.

HILDA PEACOCK

A passionate teacher of long standing, and a former Principal of La Martiniere School for Girls’, Kolkata, and close association with many schools, Mrs. Peacock has worked with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, Delhi and has been a resource person conducting workshops and training programmes across the country particularly in English. She is actively involved in Child Rights, with the belief that children should grow up to be balanced, healthy and happy individuals. Using music as a tool to teach the language, she instills language skills in children through music and singing.

Mrs .Peacock is the recipient of several outstanding awards : The National Award for Teachers from H.E The President of India, The Mother Teresa Millennium Award, the Telegraph Award for Noted Academician, and the Outstanding Teacher Award from the University of Pennsylvania.

PADMINI RAVI

She is an exponent and teacher of the ancient craft of BharataNatyam, with a new dimension and approach to dance from years of exposure in the international scene. Following her initial success in the classical arts, Padmini explored allied art forms such as theatre, folk dances, classical music, and cinema. Padmini has trained over 500 students internationally. The relationships shared along the journey exposed the various elements of dance that were not primarily a part of mainstream or traditional teaching practices.
